The Bible says in Psalm 126:1-2, “When the
LORD turned again the captivity of Zion, we were like them that dream.[2]
Then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing: then said
they among the heathen, The LORD hath done great things for them.” The Lord can
change things. You might be suffering a lot now, but God can turn the tables.
He can turn it all around. That is one of the benefits of being a Christian. We
never know what the Lord might do to bless our lives. Notice the words “dream,”
“laughter, “singing.” Starting with the forgiveness of sins, the following will
be true for every Christian, “The LORD hath done great things for them.” Do you like
singing? Do you like laughter? Do you like dreaming wonderful dreams, then give
your heart to Christ and you will have all these things and more.
The Bible says in Psalm 126:3-4, “The LORD
hath done great things for us; whereof we are glad.[4] Turn again our
captivity, O LORD, as the streams in the south.” This is a believer saying, “Yes, the Lord has blessed me a lot,
but I will gladly take even more if He will give it.” I will gladly take all
those free gifts: as many as He is willing to give me. By the way, the Lord has
an unlimited supply. He is the great giver. There is even more that you might
receive from Him about His love, His presence, and His power, and everything else.
The Bible says in Psalm 126:5-6, “They that
sow in tears shall reap in joy.[6] He that goeth
forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall
doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.” The Lord knows we weep because of the
sorrows that life has brought our way. There will be sorrows. It will not all
be laughing and singing. What do you do when a time of sorrow has come into your
life? Yes, you will cry; but do not let that stop you. Keep serving the Lord no
matter what. Keep sowing the seed of the Gospel. If you are a preacher, keep
preaching the Word. If you are not a preacher, then keep helping a preacher by
your prayers and by joining in with the congregation of the righteous. If you
keep sowing, your sorrows will end in rejoicing. He that endures to the end
shall be saved, Jesus said. In other words, he that endures his sorrows until
the sorrows are over will win the victory.
