Psalm 19:12

Psalms 19:12, “Who can understand his errors? Cleanse thou me from secret faults.” It is amazing how marvelous and abundant is the grace of God. All sinned and come short of the glory of Christ. Man of his own effort cannot be saved because we are unholy. Man is such a sinner, man is so wicked, and so blind that even when he desires to see the truth of his own sins and confess those sins, there will still be errors and faults he cannot see. You may not be able to understand or think of all you sins, but you can know that if you want forgiveness you can ask Christ and he will give it to you.  Christ can touch your heart and give you the grace needed to be able to repent of your sins. “As far as the east is from the west so far has he removed our transgressions from us

Psalms 19:13 says, “Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me: then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent from the great transgression.” One reason that we have so many errors and secret faults that we do not see is because of pride. The words “presumptuous sins” refers to pride. The devil fell because of pride. And pride is what will keep us blind to any and all sin that we have. There is probably more pride in most of us than we even realize. The only thing we can do is try to seek the will of Jesus Christ and to pray for forgiveness from our sins. The best way to keep your heart from having presumptuous sins is to make sure you do your best to seek the will of God and keep the Word of God in your heart and mind, so that you will be connected to the Spirit of God and the fruits of the Spirit. Ephesians 5:9, “For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth; Proving what is acceptable unto the LORD

The last part of verse 13 says, “innocent of the great transgression.” The great transgression is to reject Christ of Nazareth as your Savior. Jesus said, “No man can come unto me except the Father which hath sent Me draw him.” When the spirit of God reaches out to touch the hearts of men and to convict them of their sins, they must choose to kneel in their hearts to Christ the son of God to find forgiveness for sin. There are many reasons that men do not turn to Christ but ultimately all sin has its roots in pride. The devil fell because of pride. And you will too. The truth is Jesus Christ the Son of God, the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end who came to this earth 2000 years ago and was born of a virgin and died on the cross for the sins of the world and rose again on the 3rd day will forgive you of any and all sin. In reality when you trust in Christ you are already forgiven of all sins that you have done and any that you will ever do. This is not a license to sin, but it does show how great is the grace of God against the forces of evil. If you have ever been under the influence or control of the forces of evil, the forces of evil are not more powerful than the forces of Christ of the Bible. “Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need

Verse 14, “Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.” The words that you say are very important as well as are the things which are in your heart. It would be best if what went into the heart and came out of the mouth of man was the Words of Christ. Notice that this verse says, “in thy sight, O LORD.” Don’t worry about what men think of you or about pleasing men. What is important is that the things you say and the things that are in your heart are the things which God wants for you to do and to say. Do not be a man-pleaser but try to please the will of God. Do not be afraid to speak the truth. If you are afraid, then just remember the last part of these verses which say that Christ is your strength and your redeemer.

Psalms 20:1 says, “The LORD hear thee in the day of trouble; the name of the God of Jacob defend thee.” Some days are rainy days and some days are sunny. You can be certain that if Jesus has grace, and blessings, and answers to prayer for you on the sunny days, that He will have the same for you in times of storm. Of course, the greatest time of trouble is going to be the time of Jacob’s trouble, called the seven year tribulation. One of the best things that you can do in a time of great trouble when the temptations of the flesh and the forces of evil beset you, is to remember the name of God. There is power in the Word. And there is also power in the Name. Sometimes all it takes is to remember the name of Christ and that will give you the strength you need to endure. The names of God are wonderful names. His name is Jealous. His name is King of kings. His name is LORD of lords. His name is Prince of peace. His name is Wonderful councilor. His name is Jesus Christ the Son of God, Jesus of Nazareth. There is power in the name. There is power in the word. There is power in the blood.

Psalms 20:2 says, “Send thee help from the sanctuary, and strengthen thee out of Zion.” In the temple is the sanctuary. The sanctuary of the temple is where the priest would go once a year for the sacrifice. This sacrifice was to represent the forgiveness of sins that would later be found in Jesus Christ when He died on the Cross. The sanctuary of the temple is where the prescence of God was found. One of the ways that God helps his believers is by giving them the presence of His Spirit. John 14:26, “But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said you

All human beings need help. The greatest help that we need is spiritual help against the forces of evil. One of the ways that we get this help is through the Spirit of Christ. The Spirit of God is called the Comforter because one of the things the Spirit of God does is comfort. One way that the Spirit of God comforts is by bringing into remembrance the truth that we have learned. The most important truth that you can remember is the truth that Jesus Christ came to this earth 2000 years ago and was born of the virgin Mary, lived a life without sin, fulfilled the law, died on the cross for the sins of the world and rose again the 3rd day. Jesus Christ has not returned yet but He will return one day with all the host of heaven. And in that hour he will smite all the forces of evil with the sword of His Word. What a comfort it is to know you are saved. What a comfort it is to have the Spirit of God inside of you reminding you of the truth, reminding you of the promises of God, and reminding you that Christ died on the cross for the sins of the world. If all else fails, if the forces of evil deceive you, even if your own mind and heart fails you, the Spirit of God will remind you that you are saved. There is at least one way to be certain that the Spirit of God is in a man, and that is if he believes the true Christ, the Son of God, Jesus of Nazareth, the Jesus of the Bible who died on the cross of Calvary 2000 for all the sins of the world and rose from the grave 3 days later. Jesus Himself said, “If I be lifted up will draw all men unto me.” Galatians 1:6-7 says, “I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed

You should be careful. Do not be deceived. The devil is called the father of liars. There is only one Gospel. There is only one Jesus Christ. There are many antichrists. And there are many who would pervert the Gospel of Christ. 2 Thessalonians 7-13 says, “For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way. And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the LORD shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of His coming: Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, and with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: that they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness. But we are bound to give thanks always to God for you brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth

Here in the last days the deceitfulness of the devil will be so great that he will use both technology and the twisting of the truth to actually make people believe that the antichrist is the Christ. That is why it is important to know the Word of God. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. The Word of God will teach you everything you need to know about Jesus Christ so that you will not be deceived on who the true Christ is who died on the cross of Calvary for the sins of the world. The importance of the Word of God and the promises of God cannot be underestimated or under emphasized.

Psalm 20:3, “Remember all thy offerings, and accept thy burnt sacrifice; Selah  God gave man a memory. It is good to use that memory to remember things if you are remembering the right things. The things that God wants us to remember are His promises and the things that He has done both in our lives and the lives of others. For the best examples of great things that God can do, you should look to the Bible for these things.

2 Peter 3:1, “This second epistle beloved, I now write unto you; in both which I stir up your pure minds by way of remembrance:” The greatest thing that God has done is send His only begotten Son Jesus Christ to suffer and die on the cross of Calvary. Of course, God has done many, many other things for us. God does many things for us every day and we do not always notice them. The best thing to focus on is the forgiveness of sins that is found in Jesus Christ because when all else fails, this is the foundation.

All men are sinners and therefore it is very important that you do your best to keep things that are pure in your mind. Sometimes we do not realize just how important this is. However, it is never too late to try to think about pure things such as God’s Word. The Bible says in Psalms 23 “He restoreth my soulHe also restorteth the mind.

Philippians 1:6, “Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ   Christ is the faithful witness. Christ is the one who is Holy. Christ is the one who is doing the work of righteousness in this world. Part of that work is putting the brethren in remembrance. You cannot become who you should become in Christ without remembrance.

Psalm 20:4, “Grant thee according to thine own heart, and fulfill all thy counsel.” Most men all too often follow their own will, their own desires, and their own heart. Very few ever do the will of God. The only one who has the right to do what He wants all the time and whatever is in His heart is Christ. Everything that is in the heart of Christ is good, nothing is selfish. The heart of man is selfish. That is why Jesus said the greatest commandment is, “Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all Thy heart, with all thy mind, and with all thy soul

Part of this verse says, “Fulfill all thy counsel.” The Word of God is the council of God. And we know because God said so, that all of His Word shall be fulfilled. This is another way of Jesus saying that He keeps His promises.

Psalm 20:5 says, “We will rejoice in thy salvation, and in the name of our God we will set up our banners: The LORD fulfill all thy petitions.” It is important to learn to be thankful. Of all the good things which come from God to be thankful for, salvation through the blood of Jesus Christ is the most important. Because of Christ you do not have to burn in hell for eternity. Neither are you separated from God. The Bible says, “To rejoice in the Lord always.” Joy is important in serving Christ if you are to have motivation to endure the trials and tribulations and be faithful in the little things. If you lose the joy of your salvation, you will most likely lose all other joy as well.  “In the name of God we will set up our banners   As a Christian it is important to have a testimony. No one wants to flock to a dirty banner. “The LORD fulfill all thy petitions

Psalm 37:4, “Delight thyself also in the Lord, and He shall give thee the desires of thine heart.” Too often we desire the wrong things: the lust of the flesh, the pride of life, and the lust of the eyes. The only thing we should desire is the Lord JESUS Christ of Nazareth the Son of God who died for the sins of the world. We should desire His Word and His will. If you do this, you can be certain your desires will be fulfilled. Everything else in life is temporary and uncertain and fades away.

Psalm 20:6, “Now know I that the LORD saveth His anointed; he will hear him from his holy heaven with the saving strength of his right hand.” The word “anointed” refers to Christ the Messiah. Messiah means “the anointed one.” God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit are the 3 in one.  Men cannot save themselves. Only Christ can save when the Holy Spirit touches a heart and draws that heart to Christ. “He will hear him from his holy heaven with the saving strength of his right hand.” God the Father is in heaven listening. He always hears prayer and answers them. And His answers always come by the power of Christ in Heaven. The power of Christ means that it is Christ doing what you cannot. If you need the power of Christ, you can turn to Him today for Salvation from your sins. “For as many as received him to them gave he power to become the sons of God
