Isaiah 30:18
A phrasical
sermon
“Therefore will the LORD Wait”
Isaiah 30:18, “And therefore will the LORD wait, that He may be gracious
unto you, and therefore will He be exalted, that He may have mercy upon you:
for the LORD is a God of judgment: blessed are all they that wait for Him.”
Jesus waits and sometimes men and women should wait too. In talking about
waiting on God and on God waiting let us understand time and eternity. God is
from everlasting to everlasting. Therefore God is always waiting in eternity
past, eternity present, and eternity future. What is time to Jesus? God is
always waiting and always working.
In understanding God
waiting consider these verses from the Bible: Psalms 90:2, “Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting
to everlasting, Thou art God.” Daniel 4:34, “I blessed the most
High, and I praised and honoured Him that liveth for ever, whose dominion is an everlasting dominion,
and His kingdom is from generation to generation.”
Isaiah 30:18, “And therefore will the LORD wait, that He may be gracious
unto you.” Mortal man is eager always with his hands. Not that hands are unnecessary for hands were meant to touch.
For with his hands man will work and in working do. But mortal man needs to
learn, “that therefore will the LORD wait.”
Grace is what good things
God gives freely through Jesus Christ. And what God gives is always good such
as the forgiveness of sins or the way of a man with a maid in marriage.
Sometimes God waits on giving something to mankind so that He can be gracious
unto us. For example, God waited after Adam and Eve sinned and fell from grace.
God waited several thousand years before sending His Son Jesus Christ to die on
the cross for our sins.
Isaiah chapter 29:1-6 says,
“Woe to Ariel, to Ariel, the city where David dwelt!
Add ye year to year; let them kill sacrifices. Yet I
will distress Ariel, and there shall be heaviness and sorrow: and it shall be
unto me as Ariel. And I will camp against thee round about, and will lay siege
against thee with a mount, and I will raise forts against thee. And thou shalt be brought down, and shalt
speak out of the ground, and thy speech shall be low out of the dust, and thy
voice shall be, as of one that hath a familiar spirit, out off the ground, and
thy speech shall whisper out of the dust. Moreover the multitude of thy
strangers shall be like small dust, and the multitude of the terrible ones
shall be as chaff that passeth away: yea, it shall be
at an instant suddenly. Thou shalt be visited of the
LORD of hosts with thunder.”
Woe! O we the people of
the
Yet, therefore will the
LORD wait that He may be gracious unto thee. All that fight against her shall
be as a dream of a night vision. I have a dream. I have a dream of
righteousness a dream of the way of man with a maid in marriage whose pleasure
is holiness unto the LORD Jesus Christ. I have a dream of the majesty of Jesus
Christ and the knowledge of the Word of God. As a dream of a night vision add
ye year to year.
Isaiah 30:18, “And therefore will the LORD wait, that He may be gracious
unto you, and therefore will He be exalted, that He may have mercy upon you:
for the LORD is a God of judgment: blessed are all they that wait for Him.”
When God waits God is still doing a gospel work in this world. The gospel of
Jesus Christ must go forth. There are many souls lost in sin. There is much to
learn about God waiting because God is waiting to send His only begotten Son
Jesus to return to this earth and gather together all the believers in the
twinkling of an eye.
In understanding Isaiah
30:18 notice that waiting and exaltation go together. And also notice that
grace, mercy and judgment go together. In this world today there are many
Christians who are waiting, waiting on the return of Christ and waiting on the
judgment of God because of the suffering, violence, and murder caused to them
and their children. God is a God of judgment and God loves judgment. When God
brings judgment against those whom have done so cruelly to His children He does
so with majesty and with a godly jealousy. Therefore it is much better to
understanding God’s waiting before seeing the judgment of God upon this world.
Isaiah 30:18, “And therefore will the LORD wait, that He may be gracious
unto you, and therefore will He be exalted, that He may have mercy upon you:
for the LORD is a God of judgment: blessed are all they that wait for Him.”
In thinking about God
waiting what should be thought about is grace. Why does God not answer some
prayers immediately? Why does God not always give justice immediately? Why does
God not always restore to Christians that which we have lost in this life? Whenever
something does not happen that you desire and that you beseech from Christ it
is because God is waiting. And Christ waits so that He can offer salvation by
grace through faith in Him. When God waits it means that He gives time, more
time unto men. When God does not wait it means, “yea, it shall be at
an instant suddenly. Thou shalt be visited of the
LORD of hosts.”
Isaiah 29:9-10, “Stay yourselves, and wonder; cry ye out, and cry: they are
drunken, but not with wine; they stagger, but not with strong drink. For the LORD hath poured out upon you the spirit of deep
sleep, and hath closed your eyes: the prophets and your rulers, the seers hath
he covered.”
To not wait on the LORD is
to turn away from the truth. And to turn away from the truth is to become drunken. A drunk person is out of
their senses and out of control of themselves. A drunk
person makes foolish decisions. A drunk person does
crazy things. Drunk people tend to fall into great whoredom
and violence. To turn away from the truth of the Word of God is to be like a drunk person.
We can see how much the
It should be no wonder why

Isaiah
29:14, “Therefore, behold, I will proceed to do a
marvelous work among this people, even a marvelous work and a wonder.” In talking about
satellites, in talking about chains of sound, and in talking about the
forgiveness of sins and eternal life in Jesus Christ God has answered me in the
secret place of thunder. Behold! The name of the LORD cometh
from afar.
The gospel of Jesus Christ,
the judgment of God, and the grace of God given unto men in this age of grace
is always a marvelous work and a wonder. Consider the words marvelous and
wonder. Marvelous things without number. Thy love to
me was wonderful O, Jesus King of Kings. His name shall be called wonderful.
Sing unto Him, sing psalms unto Him till the
indignation be accomplished.
The world is at rest and
is quiet. The world is moving and stirring. God is waiting. When the LORD Jesus
Christ waits Jesus is both working and resting at the same time. The wheels of
God are spinning. This is law and grace. 69. Turn, turn ye face to face! The
way of a man with a maid is increasing in this world by the grace of Jesus
Christ.
In talking about God
waiting and God working the Bible says concerning wheels: Ezekiel
A wheel is something that
turns just like the wheel of a car spin and turn. Not only does a wheel turn
but a will turns too. Cars have wheels and man has a will and God has a will.
In a way it is like the concept of the force in Star Wars. A long long time ago in the beginning of the world God created man
and gave him a free will, God gave man liberty. O! yes,
the wheels of God are spinning and the will of man is turning this world. This
is the will of God.
There is permissive will
and there is predestined will. Sometimes Christians are waiting on the will of
God. But waiting or not the will of God is always at work in this world. Who
invented the wheel? God did.
As for the
wheels, it was cried unto them in my hearing, O wheel. Behold, I will proceed
to do a marvelous work among this people, even a marvelous work and a wonder. We the people, waiting and exaltation; waiting for exaltation;
waiting for the LORD Jesus Christ to be exalted.
As a dream of
a night vision the wheels of God are spinning and the LORD Jesus Christ shall
be glorified and the glorious gospel of Jesus Christ shall go forth into this
world.
Isaiah 29:16, “Surely your turning of things upside down shall be esteemed
as the potter’s clay.” God is the potter and we are the clay. In otherword’s regardless of what happens in this world,
regardless of the plans that men make or the wars that men make or the
turmoil’s and persecutions that men may cause you the their turning of things
upside down and your turning of things upside down shall be esteemed as the potters’s clay because God is the potter and we are the
clay.
Ezekiel 21:26-27, “Thus saith the Lord God; Remove
the diadem, and take off the crown: this shall not be the same: exalt him that
is low, and abase him that is high. I will overturn, overturn, overturn, it:
and it shall be no more, until He come whose right it is; and I will give it
him.”
Exalt her that was low and
abase him that is her. Exalt her, exalt liberty and grace in this world and
exalt the gospel of Jesus Christ. Waiting and exaltation: we the people of this
world wait and exalt her.
Stay
yourselves, and wonder; cry ye out, and cry as a dream of a night vision. Woe!
Break forth into singing. The way of an eagle in the air; the way of a man with
a maid I will proceed to do a marvelous work among this people, even a
marvelous work and a wonder.
Our prayer and our sincere
desire towards Christ is that liberty and freedom shall increase to all the world and all the nations of the world so that they
might have life and that they might have it more abundantly in these last days
and last years of the age of grace.
Therefore, Behold, I will
proceed to do a marvelous work among this people, even a marvelous work and a
wonder: the gospel of Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ loved us. Jesus Christ loves
us. Looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life? Eternal
life…Eternal life in him that is true, even in His Son Jesus Christ. This is
the true God, and eternal life.
Therefore will the LORD
wait, that He may be gracious unto you. Blessed are all they that wait for Him.
I will proceed to do a marvelous work among this people: add ye year to year by
the power of God through faith. Add ye year to year; Add yea day to day glory,
and majesty, dominion, and power in the name of Jesus Christ. Break forth into
singing and exalt her, liberty, exalt her. My name is William E. Night and to
me liberty is the name Emma Hewitt in this world. Turn from
your sins to Jesus Christ.
