Psalms 44:16

“All This Is Come Upon Us”

Psalms 44:16-17 says, “For the voice of Him that reproacheth and blasphemeth; reason of the enemy and avenger. All this is come upon us; yet have we not forgotten thee, neither have we dealt falsely in thy covenant.” What is the burden of the LORD? The voice, the Word of God, and the gospel of Jesus Christ are always the burden of the LORD. Psalms chapter 44 teaches us about how a nation falls into slavery. It is very simple, that nation simply stops making its boast in the LORD.

Even when most men turn aside from the truth there will always be some who will listen to the Word of God. These who listen to the Word of God are the ones that God favours the most through Christ. God favours them all by giving grace for grace. But God increases His favour for those that do their part in the spread of the Word of God. There is always more favour there is always more grace to gain in Christ. It is now  a season of Corinthian grace for those who want the favour of God.

It is never good to blaspheme God. In a world of strangeness where there is so much slavery we can be sure that Christ will reproach those that blaspheme Him. The Word that is used here for reproach is used in Leviticus 19:20 which says, “And whosoever lieth carnally with a woman, that is a bondmaid, betrothed to a husband, and not at all redeemed or freedom given her, she shall be scourged, she shall not be put to death because she was not free.

One of the greatest kinds of reproach that is the worst kinds of reproach that a person can receive in their life is because of sexual immorality.  The worst kind of adultery is spiritual adultery.  You do not want to be betrothed to the devil. There is nothing more carnal than to be willingly betrothed to the devil. A person or nation who does this is a great blasphemer against Christ. The devil only destroys. It is Christ that gives eternal life.

Psalms 44:16-17 says, “For the voice of Him that reproacheth and blasphemeth; reason of the enemy and avenger. All this is come upon us; yet have we not forgotten thee, neither have we dealt falsely in thy covenant.” When a nation falls into slavery you should turn to Christ. There is an enemy and there is an avenger. It is always Jesus who pours out the vengeance and the indignation and wrath on individuals and nations who refuse to repent of their sins. Perhaps this is why in talking about such things what is talked about in regards to reproach is sexual immorality and the virgin. Don’t touch the virgin.

Revelation chapter 12:14 says,  “And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness into her place where she is nourished for a time and a times and half a time from the face of the serpent.” Marriage is always a symbol of the spiritual union of the human soul with Christ by repentance of sin and redemption through the blood of Jesus. You can measure how much a nation falls away from the gospel of Jesus Christ simply by how much the marriages fail in a country. When that country goes away from the natural use of the way of a man with a maid then at some point that nation will be engaged to the devil.

Psalms 44:16-17 says, “For the voice of Him that reproacheth and blasphemeth; reason of the enemy and avenger. All this is come upon us; yet have we not forgotten thee, neither have we dealt falsely in thy covenant.” In the book of Revelation it mentions the woman and the virgin. Revelation chapter 12:14 says,  “And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness into her place where she is nourished for a time and a times and half a time from the face of the serpent.”

A time and a times and now nearly half a time.  America has been the half time of the world for a long time. Look at it this way, every 7 years a new presidential election begins in America. These next 7.5 years are going to be very important years especially for those who have the favour of God through the righteousness of Christ. Vengeance will come on America because of its blaspheming and because of it’s damage to the gospel of Christ; because they have touched the virgins of righteousness. All this is come upon us yet have we not forgotten thee, Jesus.

Psalms 44:18-21 says, “Our heart is not turned back, neither have our steps declined from thy way; though thou hast sore broken us in the place of dragons, and covered us with the shadow of death. If we have forgotten the name of our God, or stretched out our hands to a strange god; shall not God search this out? For he knoweth the secrets of the heart.” There are always a few in a nation who will stand for truth regardless of what happens. It takes a few to make a difference and to ensure a season of Corinthian grace in this age of grace for grace.

Jesus said in Matthew chapter 7:14, “Because straight is the gate and narrow is the way which leadeth unto life and few there be that find it.” Notice the word decline. When you do not decline from the way of truth and life, the Word of God then God withholds His judgment on a nation. All it takes is a few with faith in Christ.

For he knoweth the secrets of the heart.” The shadow of death. There is the shadow of death, and there is the shadow of the glory of Christ. You can choose one or the other. One is the way of grace through faith in Christ. The other is the way of turning back into sin.  To not turn back you must always strengthen the things that remain that are ready to die. This means separation from the world and the temptations of the world. This also means keeping the Word of God in your heart and in your mind. God wants a perfect work. He is looking for those who will not worship the devil. If we have forgotten our God or stretched out our hands to a strange God shall not God search us out? What kind of a work will your stretch your hands out to do? Hopefully a work for Christ.

For he knoweth the secrets of the heart.”  God is the potter and we are the clay. Sometimes for Christ to work in a hard heart filled with sin Christ must break that heart with the hammer of His Word by breaking the spirit in the place of dragons. If it is not persecution then it is consequence for sin. Either way Christ is the one who breaks the spirit sore, because every knee shall bow and every tongue shall confess that Jesus Christ is LORD. Even the ones that refuse to repent shall kneel to Christ.

Jeremiah 31:21 says,  “Set thee waywards, make thee high heaps set thine heart toward the highway.”  There is a highway to heaven through faith in Jesus Christ. In a strange world of strange gods who have strange children make your boast in the Lord Jesus Christ. If you have wandered into the destructiveness of sin and the emptiness of sin then set thee the waywards of the Bible and turn to Christ again for forgiveness.

Psalms 57:3 says, “He shall send from heaven and save me from the reproach of him that would swallow me up. Selah. God shall send forth His mercy and His truth.”
