Psalms 43:1-2

“Judge me, O God!”

Psalms 43:1, “Judge me, O God, and plead my cause against an ungodly nation: O deliver me from the deceitful and unjust man. For thou art the God of my strength: why dost thou cast me off? Why go I mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?” Jesus loves judgment because Jesus is love. The book of Psalms talks a lot about judgment. There is, especially in America, a great lack of judgment. If only men would learn to repent of their sins. This is what the phrase means that says, “Judge me, O God, and plead my cause against an ungodly nation.

One of the greatest failures in America is to turn away from grace and to turn to the devil. America is falling into the Babylonian slavery of the last days. The devil uses sex, especially homosexuality to enslave America. If only men would listen to the word of God and judge themselves for their sins God would not judge them because Christ paid it all when he suffered and died on the cross for the sins of the world.

Think carefully about these verses in the Bible: Psalms 43:1-2 says, “Judge me, O God, and plead my cause against an ungodly nation: O deliver me from the deceitful and unjust man. For thou art the God of my strength: why dost thou cast me off? Why go I mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?

One truth about Christians which makes them very different from the rest of the people in the world is the desire in their heart to see the truth about their own sinfulness. When you live in an ungodly nation sometimes you have to stand alone for Jesus and his truth.

To plead means many things. Who is it that pleads the cause of the Christian? It is Jesus. The cause of the Christian is the battle for the truth of the Word of God and for the lost souls that are still in need of redemption from the slavery of sin. There are some words in the New Testament which are used to emphasize how it is that God pleads for the Christian. In the New Testament Christ is called the Mediator. Hebrews chapter 4:14-16, “Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession. For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.”

Psalms 43:1, “Judge me, O God, and plead my cause against an ungodly nation: O deliver me from the deceitful and unjust man.” Let us hold fast our profession of faith.

Notice these 3 words: ungodly, deceitful, and unjust. These 3 words describe America. There were 3 words that use to describe America. They come from America’s constitution: life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. When those in a nation who have the greatest opportunity to preach the gospel of Christ, hollywood, use their opportunities instead to be ungodly by taking God’s name in vain that in in itself should tell you what direction the country is headed. When a nation’s law system becomes deceitful and unjust then that is a country in danger of the judgment of God. There is a greater debt in America and Europe than the financial debt, it is the sin debt of slavery. But Christ can bring you out of thralldom into the gospel light.

Psalms 43:1-2, “Judge me, O God, and plead my cause against an ungodly nation: O deliver me from the deceitful and unjust man. For thou art the God of my strength: why dost thou cast me off? Why go I mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?” When those that are deceitful and unjust, persecute you for believing the truth of the Word of God there is one who pleads for you and who your strength is. It is Jesus Christ.

Jesus will never forsake his children. You cannot lose your salvation when turned from your sins to Jesus. Once saved always saved. Jesus said in John 10:28-29, “And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand.” For a Christian it is as though we stand before the very throne of God in heaven with Christ. We are that close to him and his faithfulness. Jesus pleads for us. Therefore no one can pluck the Christian out of the promises of God. Eternal life is eternal.

Psalms 43:1-2, “Judge me, O God, and plead my cause against an ungodly nation: O deliver me from the deceitful and unjust man. For thou art the God of my strength: why dost thou cast me off? Why go I mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?” The enemy is whoever opposes the truth. Jesus is the way the truth and the life. It is a battle to live a righteous life and to speak the truth of the Bible. When you begin to feel cast off from your faith in Christ because of the persecution of deceitful and unjust men and because of an ungodly nation then remember what is taught here in the book of Psalms. Jesus pleads. Jesus is your strength. Jesus will not cast you off. Jesus will deliver you.

Judgment is coming for the United States if it does not repent of its sins. God will judge this nation for its slavery and abuse against children and women and men. God will judge this nation for its homosexuality and its pornography. We see the warning signs already. The time for mercy for this country is running short. If people do not repent of their sins and stand for the truth of the Word of God then Jesus will judge America.

Turn from your sins to Jesus Christ in simplicity and godly sincerity. God is merciful. Jesus suffered and died on the cross for your sins. He was buried and He rose again the 3rd day. There is eternal life in Christ. There is still a chance to hear the gospel of Jesus.
