“Judge me, O God!”
Psalms 43:1, “Judge me, O
God, and plead my cause against an ungodly nation: O deliver
me from the deceitful and unjust man. For thou art the God of my strength: why
dost thou cast me off? Why go I mourning because of the oppression of the
enemy?” Jesus loves judgment because Jesus is love. The book of Psalms
talks a lot about judgment. There is, especially in
One of the greatest failures in
Think carefully about these verses in
the Bible: Psalms 43:1-2 says, “Judge me, O God, and plead my cause
against an ungodly nation: O deliver me from the
deceitful and unjust man. For thou art the God of my strength: why dost thou
cast me off? Why go I mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?”
One truth about Christians which makes
them very different from the rest of the people in the world is the desire in
their heart to see the truth about their own sinfulness. When you live in an
ungodly nation sometimes you have to stand alone for Jesus and his truth.
To plead means many things. Who is it
that pleads the cause of the Christian? It is Jesus. The cause of the Christian
is the battle for the truth of the Word of God and for the lost souls that are
still in need of redemption from the slavery of sin. There are some words in
the New Testament which are used to emphasize how it is that God pleads for the
Christian. In the New Testament Christ is called the Mediator. Hebrews chapter
4:14-16, “Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed
into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession. For we
have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our
infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. Let
us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace that we may obtain mercy, and
find grace to help in time of need.”
Psalms 43:1, “Judge me, O
God, and plead my cause against an ungodly nation: O deliver
me from the deceitful and unjust man.” Let us hold fast our profession of
faith.
Notice these 3 words: ungodly,
deceitful, and unjust. These 3 words describe
Psalms 43:1-2, “Judge me, O
God, and plead my cause against an ungodly nation: O deliver
me from the deceitful and unjust man. For thou art the God of my strength: why
dost thou cast me off? Why go I mourning because of the oppression of the
enemy?” When those that are deceitful and unjust, persecute you for
believing the truth of the Word of God there is one who pleads for you and who
your strength is. It is Jesus Christ.
Jesus will never forsake his children.
You cannot lose your salvation when turned from your sins to Jesus. Once saved always saved. Jesus said in John 10:28-29, “And I give
unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man
pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all;
no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand.” For a
Christian it is as though we stand before the very throne of God in heaven with
Christ. We are that close to him and his faithfulness. Jesus pleads for us.
Therefore no one can pluck the Christian out of the promises of God. Eternal
life is eternal.
Psalms 43:1-2, “Judge me, O
God, and plead my cause against an ungodly nation: O deliver
me from the deceitful and unjust man. For thou art the God of my strength: why
dost thou cast me off? Why go I mourning because of the oppression of the
enemy?” The enemy is whoever opposes the truth. Jesus is the way the
truth and the life. It is a battle to live a righteous life and to speak the
truth of the Bible. When you begin to feel cast off from your faith in Christ
because of the persecution of deceitful and unjust men and because of an
ungodly nation then remember what is taught here in the book of Psalms. Jesus
pleads. Jesus is your strength. Jesus will not cast you off. Jesus will deliver
you.
Judgment is coming for the
Turn from your sins to Jesus Christ in
simplicity and godly sincerity. God is merciful. Jesus suffered and died on the
cross for your sins. He was buried and He rose again the 3rd day.
There is eternal life in Christ. There is still a chance to hear the gospel of
Jesus.
